notes on use:

• (supported) punctuation must be separated from other characters by whitespace
• periods are converted to U+F199C, colons are converted to U+F199D
• ampersands work as zero-width joiners for use in glyph combos
• exclamation points, quotation marks, number signs, dollar signs, percent signs, apostrophes, asterisks, slashes, semicolons, question marks, at signs, backticks, and tildes work as expected
• cartouches are created by surrounding a word with square brackets
